The Best Vegan Restaurants in Prague
Prague is a GORGEOUS city and definitely a trip to put on your bucket list! I was lucky enough to travel to Prague for 9 days recently and was impressed by not only the beautiful buildings and scenery but also the delicious vegan food that Prague had to offer. If you’ve booked a ticket to Prague and are on the hunt for some of the best vegan restaurants in Prague, look no further than the list below! These are all of the vegan-friendly places that I visited in Prague (in no particular order), and let me tell you, there are some real gems on this list worth checking out!
Happy Bean Bistro & Cafe
Laubova 1659/2, 130 00 Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Buddha Bowl, Roasted Pork Pieces with Cabbage and Dumplings
This restaurant was right around the corner from where I was staying, so it was the very first restaurant I visited in Prague. Living in Asia, bread dumplings were a bit strange for me to wrap my head around, but overall I enjoyed the “pork” dish, and was so excited to try some traditional Czech food right off the bat! The Buddha Bowl was light, delicious, and helped balance our meal perfectly. I had zero complaints about this restaurant and definitely recommend it if you’re in the Vinohrady area.
Cafefin
nám. J. z Poděbrad 1407/4, 120 00 Praha 2-Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Oat Milk Matcha Latte, Coconut Rice Porridge and Tropical Fruit
A friend recommended this cafe to me when I was searching for a place to get some work done. Although I don’t necessarily recommend it for a long work sesh (it was super busy, so I felt a bit rushed), I 100 percent recommend it for a nice brunch/coffee spot. The vegan options are quite limited, but what they do offer is very well done. I very much enjoyed my oat matcha latte and coconut rice porridge. Everything was tasty and well, very “instagrammable “which never hurts.
Sandokan Vegan Bistro
Korunní 1172/81, 130 00 Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: A little bit of everything! You pay for a plate and fill up at the hot food bar
I found this place on HappyCow when I was hungry and frantically searching for vegan food nearby. This restaurant is a self-serve vegan Indian food buffet. The menu rotates and you pay 120-130kc (about 5 USD) to fill up your plate however you want! The owner was very friendly and helpful when explaining the dishes. I personally chose to take a little of everything. Overall, the food was good and the price can’t be beat! My only complaint was that my food wasn’t very warm. That being said, I arrived close to closing time so I’m sure that was a factor. I recommend this restaurant for a healthy lunch at a cheap price!
Donut Shop
nám. J. z Poděbrad 1658/11, 130 00 Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Golden Milk Donut, Holiday Special Donut
WOW. Good vegan doughnuts are hard to come by in Korea, so I was really looking forward to this place, and it did not disappoint. It’s a tiny shop with a few vegan options (not many), but they know how to make a great doughnut. Both doughnuts that I ordered were amazing (I force-fed them to my friend and she couldn’t believe they were vegan). However, I definitely preferred the golden milk doughnut. Something about the sweet and spicy combination just worked! Just trust me, and go try it for yourself!
Moment
Slezská 62, 120 00 Praha 2-Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Tofu Salad with Sundried Tomatoes, Walnuts, and Sour Cream Dressing
Take this review with a grain of salt because I think I definitely ordered the wrong thing at this restaurant. Moment is quite a popular vegan spot in Prague that is known for its brunch plates and desserts. I went at kind of an awkward time of day, and wanted something light since I inhaled doughnuts for breakfast that morning. That’s what brought me to order a salad (rare for me to do at a restaurant). The components of the salad were nice. I especially loved the sundried tomatoes. However, the sour cream dressing was just so overpowering for me that I couldn’t enjoy the dish at all. I hate to say it, but I left disappointed. I would love to visit again in the future, though, to try out some more of their menu and have my mind changed.
Chlebíček Store
nám. Dr. Václava Holého 1331/3, 180 00 Praha 8-Libeň, Czechia
What I ordered (From left to right): Pate, “egg” salad, “salami” salad
⭐️TOP CHOICE ⭐️ This small, simple shop serves up some vegan chlebicky that packs a punch! Chlebicky is a type of open-faced sandwich in Czech that has various toppings. The Chlebíček Store is all vegan and offers many different kinds of these sandwiches ranging from vegan pate to “egg” salad to hummus and more. They had about 8 different kinds in total to choose from when I visited. I had a difficult time choosing, but all of the staff members were extremely kind and helpful and gave me their best recommendations. I loved all of chlebicky that I tried, but especially loved the “salami” salad (on the right). Chlebicky itself is a simple food, but this shop makes each one unique and delicious with their homemade spreads and toppings. It’s an excellent place to try this traditional Czech dish, and I can’t speak highly enough of this shop! Both the service and the food were incredible.
Onigirazu
M. Horákové 1280/9, 170 00 Praha 7-Holešovice, Czechia
What I ordered: Broccoli Cashew Curry Onigirazu
Onigirazu is basically a “sushi sandwich” and is a great option for when you’re on the run. I found myself hungry and wanting a snack, and this did just the trick! This shop is small and sells only a few kinds of onigirazu. When I went, this broccoli, cashew, curry onigirazu was the only one available at the moment, so I had no options at all. That being said, it was pretty cheap, very delicious, and turned out to be the perfect snack.
Chutnej Bistro
Voroněžská 564/19, 101 00 Praha 10-Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Falafel, Onion Rings, Pepperoni Pizza
If you want to get your vegan junk food fix while in Prague, look no further than Chutnej Bistro. We got pizza, falafel, and onion rings delivered to our Airbnb after a long, rainy day. To be honest, the falafel and onion rings weren’t great in my opinion, but the pizza was cheesy, greasy, and everything I want in a pizza! I hadn’t had a simple “pepperoni” pizza in years, and I really enjoyed this one. The vegan pepperoni was really tasty, and even got my non-vegan boyfriend’s stamp of approval.

Saturday Farmer’s Market
náplavka Rašínova nábřeží, Praha 2, 120 00 Praha 2, Czechia
What I ordered: Spinach Quiche
I love nothing more than wandering local markets in a foreign city. The Saturday Farmer’s Market in Prague is located right on the river, so the view is beautiful and it’s the perfect chance to get a look into the local lifestyle here. It was pretty busy when I went, and there were lots of vendors to explore. My favorite vendor by far, though, was the one pictured below. From my photo, I’m guessing its name is “Dvornik”. They had a huge selection of both sweet and savory bread, cakes, and pastries. I got some spinach quiche and quite enjoyed it. The girls working there were so much fun to chat with and were incredibly helpful! This vendor is worth seeking out if you make a visit to the Market.
Best stand at the market! Spinach “Quiche”
EtikButik
Rašínovo nábřeží 54 120 00, Praha, Czechia
I know this blog is about the best vegan restaurants in Prague, and while this isn’t a restaurant, it’d be a shame not to share. We found this place just walking around, saw the words “vegan”, “slow fashion”, and “zero waste” on the sign, and knew we had to check it out. Etikbutik is a vegan boutique that sells clothing, shoes, bags, and more for both men and women. They had so many cute things, I wanted to buy out the whole store, but I had to practice some self-control and just window-shop this time around.

Forky’s
Veleslavínova 93/10, 110 00 Josefov, Czechia
What I ordered: Currywurst
While doing my own research for the best vegan restaurants in Prague, Forky’s is one that consistently came up. Forky’s is what I would consider to be a vegan “fast-food” restaurant. They offered burgers, bowls, wraps, and this currywurst that I ordered. This was the first time I’ve ever eaten currywurst, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I thought it tasted pretty good! It was a tad bit on the salty side for me, but I liked the sausages and the spicy flavor of the sauce. I also really loved that they give you a mixture of both regular fries and sweet potato fries. Overall, I enjoyed Forky’s and would go again if I ever find myself back in Prague.
Vegan’s Prague
Nerudova 221/36, 118 00 Malá Strana, Czechia
What I ordered: Svíčková with dumplings, Burger Special
I was very excited to visit Vegan’s Prague as it was the most popular restaurant listed on Happy Cow, but if I’m being completely honest, we were a bit disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the burger of the day while I opted for the Svíčková with dumplings. My boyfriend did not like his burger at all, and I thought both dishes were just okay. Not terrible, but not too exciting either. They were both presented beautifully, and I loved the healthy ingredients in each dish but just wasn’t “wowed” by any of the food. This could be due to the fact that I had such high expectations for the place. It is, however, conveniently located near Prague Castle, so if you’re hungry after visiting the Castle, it can be a good option for lunch or dinner.
Burger of the Day Svíčková with dumplings
Waffle Point U Kajetana
Nerudova 248, 118 00 Malá Strana, Czechia
What I ordered: Vegan Chocolate Trdelnik
⭐️TOP CHOICE ⭐️ Walking the streets of Prague, you’re likely to see lots of people eating this popular street snack called “trdelnik”. It’s basically rolled dough sprinkled with sugar and filled with different toppings such as chocolate, fruit, ice cream, etc. From what I’ve read, they traditionally are made with milk and egg, so when I finally came across a vegan version of it, I was pretty ecstatic. What’s even more, this shop offered vegan chocolate as a filling. The filling tasted just like Nutella and was perfect inside the warm, sugary dough. I highly recommend this place because not only was it delicious, but having trdelnik in Prague is definitely a bucket-list experience.

Blue Vegan Pig Shop
Voroněžská 564/19, 101 00 Praha 10-Vinohrady, Czechia
What I ordered: Matcha, Toffee, PBJ, Apple Cinnamon Doughnuts
This 100 percent vegan doughnut shop should not be missed while visiting Prague! We visited a bit later in the day, so a few of the flavors I was looking forward to were already sold out (ahem..Lotus Biscoff). However, I just couldn’t stay mad while eating all the delicious doughnuts that we did manage to get our hands on. These doughnuts were a bit more cakey than the ones at the Donut Shop, and were each filled with some kind of custard or jam. I can honestly say I enjoyed every single one of these flavors, and it was hard to choose a favorite, but if I had to choose, I would say that the Apple Cinnamon doughnut was especially nice.
Manifesto Market
Na Florenci, 110 00 Prague-Nové Město, Czechia
What I ordered: Pasta from the Flying Pot
I love a good local food market, especially when they are outdoors. Manifesto Market had tons of vendors with lots of vegan options, and was so much fun to explore! After scouring the market and weighing all my options, I finally decided on some fresh pasta from a vendor called the Flying Pot. I couldn’t remember the last time I had a nice, freshly made pasta, so this was a real treat! Paired with a glass (or a few glasses) of hot wine, Manifesto Market made for the perfect night out!
Freshly made pasta Great atmosphere!
Creme De La Creme
Husova 231/12, 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia
What I ordered: Pistachio and Chocolate Gelato
⭐️TOP CHOICE ⭐️The word ‘gelato’ has never excited me much because, in the past, all of the vegan gelatos I’ve had were fruit-based and tasted more like sorbet. I much prefer the creaminess of regular ice cream. I visited Creme De La Creme with this mindset so I didn’t expect too much, but after devouring this pistachio and chocolate cone, my opinion of gelato has been forever changed. It’s hard to explain the texture of this ice cream because it was so creamy that it was almost sticky. Both of the flavors that I got were exceptional and had I visited this place earlier in my trip, I probably would’ve gone back every day.
Waipawa
Šmeralova 292/12, 170 00 Praha 7-Bubeneč, Czechia
What I ordered: Vegan Fried Cheese, Goulash
⭐️TOP CHOICE ⭐️A friend had recommended this place to me saying that it was one of the best vegan restaurants in Prague, so I followed his advice and went for dinner one evening. I’ll say right off the bat that he was right, and I ate one of my best meals in Prague here. The fried vegan cheese was unbelievable. It’s one of those meals where I kept thinking, “Is this REALLY vegan?”. The cheese was gooey and melty and amazing overall. The goulash was great as well. It was very flavorful and was served with some delicious potato pancakes on the side. I loved that this restaurant offered so many great local dishes, so if you find yourself in Prague wanting to try the local cuisine, Waipawa is a great place to do that!
Arepas De Lyna
83, Korunní 1173, Vinohrady, 130 00 Praha, Czechia
What I ordered: Vegan Arepa
I have never had an arepa before in my life although I had heard of them when living in New York. I had read online that Arepas De Lyna had a vegan option, so after a night of drinking, we decided that it would make for a good post-bar snack. There weren’t labeled vegan options, but I spoke with the staff who were very helpful and ended up with an arepa loaded with black beans, lettuce, and avocado. To be honest, it wasn’t my favorite snack after a few beers, but still, it was very fresh, light, and healthy. I think it would make for a great afternoon pick me up!
Maitrea
6, Týnská ulička 1064, 110 00 Praha 1, Czechia
What I ordered: Pumpkin Pasta (special of the day), Paella á la Maitrea
I ended up at Maitrea mostly due to its good location. My boyfriend and I were both feeling hangry and wanted something close to Old Town. The place was packed when we arrived, but still, the service was great and we were seated quickly. I almost always order specials when restaurants offer them because I love a good “off the menu” dish, but I didn’t particularly enjoy this one. The pumpkin pasta was lacking flavor in my opinion, and I regretted not getting the pesto zoodles which was what I originally had in mind. On the other hand, the flavor that I was missing in the pasta, was definitely made up for in the paella. The paella was full of mushroom, sun-dried tomato, and vegan “chicken”, and it was such a delight! If you visit Maitrea, I highly recommend this dish!
Paella Pumpkin Pasta
Vegan Grill
What I ordered: Beyond Sausage
Although this technically isn’t a vegan restaurant in Prague, it is a vegan street vendor which is close enough in my opinion! We luckily came across this place while walking around in Old Town near the Municipal House. There was a small outdoor market with a few vendors selling food, drinks, and some homemade gifts. I made a beeline for this stand as soon as I saw it. They sell Beyond burgers as well as the Beyond sausage which is what we ordered. They topped the sausage with ketchup, mustard, fried onion, and some cabbage, and it was delicious! I’ve tried the Beyond sausage before, but it was my boyfriend’s first time ever having it and he loved it!
World Vegan
Na Poříčí 1067/25, 110 00 Petrská čtvrť, Czechia
This is an all-vegan grocery store in Prague. They have a huge selection of goodies including chips, snacks, frozen items, drinks, some household items, deli items such as vegan “meats” and “cheeses”, as well as a decently large selection of freshly baked bread and pastry items. I came here to stock up on some things to bring back to Korea, and my favorite finds BY FAR were a vegan advent calendar and some vegan caviar!
Didn’t love the pastry The motherload! Vegan pastries and baked goods Store Entrance
Bistro Strecha
Milíčova 471/25, 130 00 Praha 3-Žižkov, Czechia
What I ordered: Soy schnitzel, Soy Meat Stuffed Dumplings
⭐️TOP CHOICE ⭐️When I think back on the best vegan restaurants in Prague that I ate at, Bistro Strecha was easily one of my personal favorites. We initially came for lunch but realized they didn’t offer their full menu in the afternoon, so we came back in the evening for dinner. I loved their food and especially recommend the soy schnitzel which was amazing. In addition to the fantastic food, Bistro Strecha is a social enterprise which offers employment and decent wages to people without a home and/or after serving a jail sentence. This is an excellent restaurant to eat local food at while also supporting the local community!
